Very frequently, I see many of you posting to this board in search of work at home opportunities. Many of you want to work from home and have been jaded by scams, pyramid schemes, promises of wealth, etc.
I've told some of you about how I make money as a freelance writer--I've helped some of you try it out on your own as well. I've yet to help the rest of you who have been curious about my line of work--and this is my way of doing it.
I've been working as a freelancer for several years now--about five. I've worked on projects large and small, serious to downright insignificant--but I've been getting paid for all of them.
Here's your chance to rake in some of that dough. I'm getting a bit tired of working for myself alone, for other writing companies that dont' care for me as a person but only a workhorse, and Ive established some pretty steady relationships with private clients. With that said, now its' my turn to head my own writing team--and I want you guys to come aboard. As a seasoned freelancer, I am now equipped with the resources, the passion and the knowledge to steer you all twoards at least a modest income. I'm starting a team of both experienced and novice writers who are willing to work on a variety of projects for pay. Note: This is by no means a fulltime position, but for most people, every dollar counts, and you can make a decent amount of them per week if you're willing
to learn and to put a sincere effort into your work.
How it works:
I would find the assignments an clients for the team, then each member would choose which assignment they want from a list of available ones. This is why I'm looking to take on both novices and skilled writers--I want my team to appeal to a variety of clients. I was once a newbie too, and I was trained in my field of work by companies just like this one. If you are an avid learner, you can meet deadlines and you need some extra cash, get in touch. You can also comment on this board.
This is a brand-new project of mine--one due to take off in the next few weeks. I already have existing clients for whom I have worked and I'm willing to transfer them to the team.
I have more details for those of ou who are interested, so please comment below or send me a private message.
I hope to work with some of you soon.
Thanks.
Bernadetta, I take it you are looking overseas as well? I know someone out here who may be interested. :)
Thanks
Yes; I'm looking overseas as well.
I used to do that sort of thing when I was in Minneapolis for an entity called Mechanical Turk. Didn't pay a whole lot and I think I got ripped off ultimately, but I'd still be interested in doing this in my spare time. Do you need proofreaders/editors? I have to say I'm very good at that sort of work, but I'd also be interested in writing/research. Who knows? (gasp!) If it involves any kind of legal issues, I can always get a subscription to Lexis/Nexis. Maybe that stupid degree comes in handy after all?
Bernadetta, what kind of writing projects are you referring to? I am interested, but am not sure what would be required.
Kate
I must admit I was skeptical to begin with, but this does look legitimate.
I might be interested, give us more information, please.
Bob
If this came from anyone else, i'd be skeptical, but I definitely trust the
authenticity, and honesty of what's being offered here. I'm not really sure i'd be
a good fit for this kind of work, or i'd give it a shot.
Still, means more options for well qualified people.
You can definitely count me in Bernadetta.
I would be very interested. Please provide more details.
Hi Bernadetta,
I've sent you an e-mail. Count me in!
Liz
Hello everyone. To all who have responded with interest, I have an update.
Currently I am setting up a virtual interface through a project management web site for the purpose of this team. This will help us work smoothly as a group. I will contact you individually via zone mail (or facebook/email for those of you whom I know already). I will send you more details about what this work is all about... In fact, you can expect another post from me later today in which I willl explain more about the work. I'm a bit pressed on time this morning, but I will be back. Hang tight; slowly but surely, we're lifting off to a good start.
Thank you for your continued interest.
Hi Bernadetta,
I look forward to further contact from you regarding this project.
Liz
Hi. Wonderful news that you are moving ahead with this project.
Look forward to hearing more about it.
I did send you a private message so, feel free to contact me.
Thanks much.
Hi Bernadetta,
I am also interested. I know it has been a while since you posted this, but if you are still looking for team members, I would be interested. I am good at proofreading and editing as well as some writing and help friends out with these things regularly. Please let me know if you are still looking for people to be on your team.
Thank you,
Misty
I didn't respond to this originally because I was in school pursuing a different goal when it was posted. However, several things in my life have changed so if this opportunity is still available, I would love to give it a shot.
Hi everyone.
I realize I posted this topic months ago and I haven't been back to update it for nearly as long.
I will be very frank regarding my reasons why I have stayed quiet for so long and why I have not contacted the majority of you who have so graciously taken interest in this opportunity.
The good news first:
This is not an abandoned endeavor and it is still legitimate. I am still interested in taking you on if you are still interested in being involved.
Now, for the bad news:
Though this is ironic, just as I was kicking this venture off, a number of events took place which stopped me in my tracks. Some were professional in nature: I briefly took a job with an art academy startup (until my checks from the director started to bounce; long story for another board perhaps)). On the personal front, I encountered turmoil as well, as several family members with whom I am close were diagnosed with cancer.
I write this not for pitty or as an excuse, but to give you a bit of insight as to why this project was put on the back burner. For months, I've struggled to maintain a fair balance between my work as a freelance writer and my duty as a mother to my sweet two-year-old boy, due to the external circumstances which have been draining so much of my energy.
At this point, I am happy to say that things are no longer turbulant or uncertain, either personally or professionally. I have built up a sufficient client base to sustain a writing team at last, and I have carved out the time necessary to develop it to its fullest potential.
I will be sending out my informational pamphlet to those who were (and remain) interested, and then I will commence with training and accepting writing samples from prospective team members.
I will explain about the writing samples in my informational pamphlet as well as during the introduction/training sessions.
for those who, for some reason do not make it into my team (for lack of interest or otherwise) I am still willing to help you and point you to resources I have used in the past to build my freelance career as well as my writing chops.
I am sorry if some of you were left disappointed, and I truly appreciate your endless patience.
There is another board on here which is on the topic of freelance writing; I will go and update that with some of my starter resources so that they will be at your disposal whether you join my team or not.
To ensure that I have all my ducks in a row this time around, regardless of my circumstances, I will set a kickoff date for this team. The date is January 15 2015; this provides me with ample time to set everything up entirely and guide prospective members through the training and testing process.
Thanks very much once again for your trust and patience. I am on a mission to get you all some valuable work as writers. So cheers to that, and I promise, the next update won't take this long for me to post. :)
Warmly,
B P
PS: excuse the rambling nature of this post. As someone offering guidance and work in the writing niche, I realize that my post is not very well-written. Excuse me for this; I happen to be posting this a bit late into the night, and sleep is sneaking its way into my brain. :)
I'll catch you all on the other side. And for now, happy writing.
Bernadetta,
You may not have been asking for pity and sympathy, as you say: but we are all human, and the nobler nature demands a response in kind; I'm sure I speak for many who extend condolences to your situation. Dealing with family crises while working, and being an entrepreneur at that, is hugely challenging.
Also, kudos for attempting to keep work and family life in balance. I remember how hard that was when the Daughter was younger. I'm sure you've got the support of every parent on here, and every thoughtful person who has been raised by a parent, be they balanced or not.
I hope those on your list of applicants will extend the type of empathy and human understanding they hope to receive under similar circumstances.
Thanks leo. That means a lot; I'm grateful for your kind support as a parent and as a person. Things are certainly looking up for me again, so it's all good. And as I said, I'm really looking forward to kicking this off the ground.
If they don't extend that empathy, it is doubtful they'd be a good fit for your team. I'm glad to hear that things are smoothing out for you. I'll look forward to your pamphlet. I'll PM you with my personal email address.
I'm glad to see that this is progressing. I'm definitely still interested. I will
also pm you my email address and await your pamphlet.
Thanks guys; I'll be sending out the pamphlet the day after thanksgiving. I am traveling this week so I'm a bit all over the place in terms of time. Just a quick update with reassurance that this is still on track.
If I wasn't a sucky writer I'd go for it.
Ok interested zoners:
I've sent out the pamphlet through private messages, better known as zone mail. I'm not sure how well this works, but I just wanted to be consistent across the board. I'd love to know whether you all received it. Rather than clogging up the boards though, just email me. at this point, I've created a separate email account just for this, so keep em coming.
I'm posting the address publicly because I dont' have anything to lose. lol

Thanks guys, and looking forward to working with some, if not all of you soon.
Count me in, if still interested.
